Summer Transformation Intensive Post #4

The Summer Transformation Intensive team & the Terre Haute House of Prayer team together.

Men from Chad's Hope Teen Challenge learning "Harp and Bowl" worship

This is our team praying for Big Dave. He was saved out a life of bondage and drugs, and he was so thankful to Jesus for his salvation that he had never even thought to ask God for healing. We prayed and God answered by healing his left foot after 6 years of being paralyzed!

Here is a view of one of the evening services, where we corporately encountered the presence of Jesus together and learned about the house of the Lord.

Summer Transformation Intensive Post #3

We made it Manchester-City of Hope, Kentucky safely on Saturday, and it was a great road trip.

This is Hobart Hensley, and he goes to a church in Manchester. He is a Daniel Boone historian, and he demonstrated his flint-lock rifle for us, let us shoot blank rounds and taught us how to start fires with flint and a piece of metal.

The three guys in the middle are Big Dave, Steve Collett, and Barry Swafford (from left to right). They were former drug abusers and dealers, and the Lord has delivered them and is using them mightily in the community of Manchester! We prayed for Dave's partially paralyzed left leg, and the Lord restored movement to his heal after 6 years of not being able to move!

Every evening we have had amazing services with churches from around the community. Marvin Adams and his team from the house of prayer in Terre Haute, Indiana has been teaching them the harp and bowl worship structure. Rhonda and Marvin have been teaching about the corporate house of the Lord, consecration, the house of prayer.

Taylor Stanley, one of the participants, celebrated his 21st birthday with us, and we baked him a cake and sang to him multiple times :)

Melanda Adams came and shared about how the Lord rescued her from drugs, and what it looks like to be authentic followers of Jesus every day.

Here's our team worshiping together at a local couple's house one evening after the service.

Here is the memorial stone for the march against drugs and corruption from May 2, 2004. In a town of 1900 people, around 3500 showed up to march for the glory of God!
Portions of the march can be watched on the trailer of "An Appalachian Dawn" at http://www.glowtorch.org/Home/AADwbanner/tabid/2731/Default.aspx or the full-length DVD can be purchased on our website at www.fusionministry.com.

Here's our team on the "Nickel Tour" of Manchester at the park where the march commenced. We could feel the presence of the Lord in the park, and the peace of God is tangible in multiple parts of the community!

This is New Clay County Justice Center, that was built in the last few years. The inscription on the side says "FOR THERE IS NO INJUSTICE, NO PARTIALITY, NOR BRIBERY." The people had prayed that God would expose the darkness, and over 60 public officials have been indicted and tried for different corruption charges in the last 7 years. The light and truth has exposed the darkness, and justice is prevailing in Manchester-City of Hope, Kentucky!

Summer Transformation Intensive Post #2

The Lord has been so amazing throughout the week, so here is a brief overview.

It's been FILLED with grace!! Every detail, logistic, all the meals, 16 hours of intense teaching, 25 hours in my house fellowshipping and worship/prayer meetings, watching transformation documentaries, etc. Your prayer has make all this possible. We never would have made it!!!

Rhonda teaching at IHOP-U

The team GOT the transformation theology, revelation, understanding, hunger - all of it. I was amazed how they perceived and digested it all. Not only that but they responded personally in humility and deep repentance. The Lord truly transformed them in a couple of days.
The class at IHOP-U

As they watched the transformation documentaries the Lord broke their hearts for their own communities, they saw the parallels of the strongholds, status quo of the church, etc. Then they saw what the Lord did and FAITH and HOPE rose up in their hearts!!! They are walking in revelation and faith knowing that Jesus IS A REDEEMER OF ALL THINGS!! Even of their own community.
Worshiping in the Basement

The highlight was our times of worship. Every time we worshipped we were in an amazing place in the spirit. Each evening different young adults lead us into the presence of the Lord. One night the Lord opened our eyes and released a gift of faith for transformation. We entered into a time of spontaneous prophetic worship and got caught up together in a place in the spirit for almost 45 minutes. It was incredible. The young adults had faith imparted to them and were changed from that Monday night meeting!
Another night worshiping together

Last night we watched the Manchester documentary and one of our group who is from Manchester shared his testimony and lead us in worship. All of a sudden we broke through into a place in the spirit I have rarely been. One person saw the heavens open over us, like a portal was formed over my basement. Another saw a staircase with angels ascending and descending, and another heard angels singing and began to softly sing the song he heard. I felt the weight of God's glory rest on us and then the power of God came into the room. It was CHARGED with His presence, like electricity.

My heart is full of anticipation of what the Lord has in mind for Kentucky and even beyond. This has been a week of encounter and equipping of revolutionaries.

In Christ,
Rhonda

Texas Update and Summer Transformation Intensive!

Greetings! We have had a busy summer I can’t believe how quickly things are happening both in the natural and the spiritual. These are intense days but exciting days!

I’ve been ministering quite a bit in Texas this summer, serving campus ministries and ministering in communities along the border of Mexico. This weekend, our Summer Transformation Intensive is beginning to train young adults to impact their communities for transformation. We also are getting more involved in consecration on University Campuses and just released our promo video for the “Face to Face” process (see link below). It’s powerful!

Rio Grande Valley, Texas

Weslaco is deep in the Rio Grande Valley, almost to the southern tip of Texas, near Brownsville. I visited this area in June and was blessed to find dozens of communities connected, praying and desperate for God’s transforming presence!

The first evening we had a combined service with several hundred hungry people from all over the Rio Grande Valley! I shared the hope of transformation and the Lord gave me a prophetic declaration about His coming as a Redeemer to the Valley! It was a powerful night.

I showed the clip of the Manchester transformation testimony and it was extremely powerful because of all the parallels of corruption, violence and drugs in the Rio Grande Valley.

Pastors responding to the message

The following morning, I met for several hours with pastors and leaders from all over the Rio Grande Valley. Within a couple of hours, they knew the Lord was confirming to them they were ready consecrate themselves and begin the journey toward transformation this fall. Not only have they committed to go through in their communities, they are carrying the hope of transformation and the process of consecration out to many other communities in the Rio Grande Valley! They have also committed to a full conference this September.

The morning of the leadership consultation the sky was filled with dark clouds. But the pastor said the black clouds come across every morning but “they never release rain”. It hadn’t rained in Weslaco for 6 months. I began to intercede and told those clouds to release the rain over the city!

I received news Wednesday that it started to rain and it rained for 3 days. The drought was broken. I believe this is a clear encouragement to the pastors to pursue 2 Chron 7:14 - the Lord can open the heavens!

Laredo

Laredo is the “north gate” of the Rio Grande Valley. The border between Texas and Mexico has become a war-zone. While we get very little news in the USA about what is happening, it doesn’t take long to realize how terrifying life has become for the people living there when you visit the area.

Sunday night we had a citywide gathering and I showed a clip of Manchester, Kentucky and shared vision for transformation for Laredo. Showing the Manchester story in the context of Laredo was powerful because they understand the intimidation, corruption, violence and drugs. The vision and hope for transformation exploded in their hearts!

The next morning I met with several pastors from Laredo, many of whom had waited, believed and prayed for years to pursue transformation just didn’t know how. They knew it was time for consecration and they have already committed to going through the “Face to Face” Divine Experiment this fall as well has hosting a transformation conference.

Since my visit pastors from Nuevo Laredo (across the border) joined with pastors from Laredo and spent an evening hearing the message of transformation. Their response was to gather around the altar and repent to the Lord and one another. Together, leaders from both cities humbled themselves before the Lord and committed to one another. They have also already agreed to go through the Divine Experiment consecration process together across both sides of the border in Nuevo Laredo and Laredo in September.

Jesus wants to breakthrough with His light into the darkness and bring His glory to the Rio Grande Valley! He is raising up houses of prayer (14 new ones this year) along the border, setting watchman on the wall. The Lord is raising awareness and calling many to pray and serve this area of our nation. I believe this is the season when the border is ripe for the transformation!

Austin, Texas- Campus Leaders Retreat

I had the privilege of speaking to the leaders of Inter-Varsity from campuses across the state of Texas at their annual leadership retreat. The Lord is bringing the message of consecration of students on campus to regional and national leaders of the ministry. Several chapters on various campuses will be going through the consecration process this fall!

Summer Transformation Intensive- July 16th-31st

Our Summer Transformation Intensive begins this coming weekend! Young adults are joining us from Amsterdam, Orlando, several cities in Texas and Kansas City.

The first week we will focus on teaching the principles of transforming revival in a classroom at IHOP-U. Every day the participants will have time in the prayer room at IHOP. A couple afternoons we will have small group time to process and apply principles to our own personal transformation. Then in the evenings we will watch transformation documentaries and pray together.

The second week the entire team will travel to Manchester, Kentucky to experience transformation first-hand! We will meet with the leaders and people featured in the “Appalachian Dawn” documentary and hear their stories. We will take a tour of the community and see the tangible evidence of the transformation that has occurred.

Then each evening our team, partnering with the team from the house of prayer in Terre Haute, will lead the community in an Encounter God Service. Marvin Adams, the leader from Terre Haute, will lead worship each evening and help train singers, musicians and prayer leaders in Manchester to establish a house of prayer! Those evenings will focus on creating an atmosphere of the presence of God through prayer and worship where people can encounter the Lord and be refreshed in His presence. God has much in store for all of us during this intensive, we appreciate your prayers!

I want to invite you to partner with us in prayer regarding this new season for Fusion Ministries. Consider joining our prayer team, sowing into the ministry to support us financially or even consider becoming a trumpet for consecration in your own community!

Transformation in the USA: Manchester, Kentucky!

Doug and Linda Abner, Pastors of Community Church, with Rhonda

The Manchester Story

For the past seven years this small community of 2,200 has been interviewed by dozens of news agencies, their story appearing on CBN, MSNBC, CNN, The Associated Press, Nightline, etc. Hundreds of people have been traveling uninvited to see what the Lord has done and thousands have watched the story on the transformation documentary "Appalachian Dawn" (produced by the The Sentinel Group).

I finally had the opportunity to visit Manchester to experience the transformation for myself. After 11 years of laboring in our nation for transformation I was not disappointed! Many of us have wondered if this day would ever come - could the United States experience supernatural, presence-based transformation?

Many believers have said "No". Some are just totally uninterested. Other have insisted God was going to "do it differently here", an unveiled refusal to avoid the process of abandoning ourselves in humility, intimacy and repentance that God requires.

The Manchester, Kentucky story is a powerful testimony that embodies the same characteristics and process of transformation that has occurred in the non-western world. God required the same from the people of Manchester as He has from every other community that has attracted His transforming presence - to humble ourselves, seek God's face and turn from our wicked ways. Then, the Lord promises "I will hear your prayer, forgive your sin and heal your land" (2 Chron. 7:14). They were desperate and in their desperation they cried out to the Lord and abandoned themselves to the transformation process.

While transforming revival has been sweeping across the nations impacting hundreds of communities in the 21st Century, the western world has been virtually untouched by it's reality and power.

In the first decade of the 21st Century, over 800 communities in 45 nations have now been impacted by the fire of transforming revival! In that same decade the Western World has one stunning example - Manchester, Kentucky. God has done a supernatural work in Manchester - nothing any man or ministry would or could take credit for.

A small, isolated community in the Appalachians, the city of Manchester, Kentucky, seemed to be an impossible candidate for transformation. Many considered it beyond hope. In 1964 CBS news report gave Manchester the dubious distinction "Depressed City, USA."

Forty years later, things had only gotten worse in Clay County, being listed as the sixth poorest county in the United States. In addition to its poverty, its violent image has been widely renowned. In a TV exposé by the History Channel on Clay's family feuds, it was reported that four local clans killed more than ten times the number of family members than those killed in the infamous Hatfield and McCoy rivalry.

In addition, the community was steeped in systemic corruption for more than 200 years resulting in violence and feuding, leading to the nickname "Gun Chester". Healthy, functional families and community life were virtually non-existent. Sixty percent of the people were drawing government aide and there were more people residing in prison than people residing in the Manchester, the county set of Clay County. It had more unsolved murders than any county in Kentucky. It was also one of 10 poorest school systems in the nation and the bottom in the state of Kentucky. In addition, the police department was full of corruption; there was systemic corruption in the court system and apathy ruled in the church.

When drugs were introduced to Clay County things spiraled out of control. When meth addiction led to Oxycontin addiction, it was the tipping point. Soon most of the community was involved in using, dealing or stealing to support the addiction. They were losing 1-2 young people every week to drug overdose. Because city and county officials were involved, the drug trafficking was unchecked and in the open, which made Clay County a safe place for both users and high-level drug dealers.

In 2001, the Drug Enforcement Agency included Manchester in a region listed as the "Painkiller Capital of America." The community was devoid of all hope. As Pastor Doug Abner shared “The problem wasn't the darkness, it was the lack of the light". The churches didn't do anything about the problem because they were afraid and intimidated and lacked unity and purpose.

Breakthrough - A Revived Church!

In late September 2003 desperation began to boil over in the community. People started approaching the pastors appealing to them to "do something!". In their desperation the pastors began praying Saturday mornings. At first only 10-20 people came but then it increased until sometimes over 100 people would gather to cry out to the Lord for His intervention.

By early 2004 the Lord began to respond in a surprising way. Simultaneously, as the pastors began to pray, the Lord began to speak to other leaders. A congressman from Kentucky formed a new drug enforcement organization called "Operation Unite". Soon, 50 undercover cops were dispatched to Clay County and began to target the community to arrest drug dealers and provide counselors in high schools and other drug treatment programs.

Prayer intensified and pastors began to take responsibility for the condition of the community and repent to the Lord. As they prayed, the Lord began to give pastors who were praying His strategy for breakthrough.

In May 2, 2004, 63 churches and 3,500 people united together as community say "ENOUGH" and take their stand against drugs. Like troops advancing upon a city, believers joined together under the direction of church leaders who publicly repented before GOD for their lack of civic involvement. Suddenly, a pulse could be felt; hope had been resuscitated. Many felt this climactic prayer event helped break the vice-like grip of drug addiction that had tormented daily life.

At the rally, 63 pastors asked the Lord to forgive them for their focus on their individual programs and buildings, for their division and competition. The pastors got on their knees and prayed and the presence of God filled the park. Some people reported the atmosphere was so saturated by the presence of the Lord they could hardly breathe, many were weeping. They felt the battle turn and they sensed God's pleasure.

The following Monday, the pastors gathered in teams and visited every county official and repented to them saying "would you please forgive us for not being the church?" They then prayed for each one of them!

Immediately the Lord began to answer the prayer! The following Thursday Operation Unite arrested 50 drug dealers. Afterward they asked the pastors to join them by talking to dealers about the Lord. The church formed a new partnership as the Lord began to uproot the kingdom of darkness and bring His kingdom of light!

Transformation of Community!

As the church continued to pray, testimonies increased, lives were being impacted and changed. Hope began to fill and impact the lives of people! Local drug dealers soon began surrendering their lives to Jesus and getting delivered from drug addiction.

The atmosphere began to change, people started getting saved and the congregations began to grow. Filled with new hope, creative ideas began to flow, dreams were rekindled and joy and peace filled the hearts of the people.

The new life reviving the congregations fueled the faith of the pastors who were praying. They began to get involved in the community. They began to pray for the schools, in the classrooms, for the school board, even participating in their meetings. The churches also partnered together with law enforcement to root out crime and corruption. A court watch program was initiated by the churches to ensure justice in the courts, and with the help of their Congressman, a Christ-centered rehabilitation center was completed in 2008 paid or by government funds!

According to Sheriff Kevin Johnson, the church partnership with the police was "the best thing to happen to Clay County." Furthermore, this uncommon collaboration, "Operation Unite," has become the model for the entire state. As a result, this obscure community has become a regional influence, receiving desperate calls from 49 different states, and five foreign nations, all soliciting Clay County for guidance in their battle against drugs.

The vast majority of all elected officials are now believers. High-ranking officials like the new mayor and the sheriff are beginning to advance the kingdom cause of Christ in their respective spheres of influence.

Consequently, in 2007, the new mayor made her first order of business to show a 700 Club report about Manchester and then declared Manchester the "city of hope". The city council then voted to officially change the name of the city to "Manchester: City of Hope"!
Steve Collett, former "most miserable human being on the planet" and former drug dealer. Now gloriously redeemed and bringing many into the kingdom!

At the one year mark after the march, pastors asked the Lord to expose all the darkness in the city and within days, 100 FBI agents and the Drug Enforcement Agency showed up in the Manchester and quickly arrested 17 high-level drug dealers. Drug arrests increased by a staggering 300 percent with a 95% conviction rate. Over 3,000 people were arrested in Clay County, 800 in Manchester alone and sent to state prison or rehabilitation. The following year, Manchester became the only area in the region where painkiller prescriptions actually decreased.

The sting operation also caught high-level officials in its investigation. Within three years over 60 people would be exposed and jailed for racketeering, distributing drugs, voter fraud and go to prison. These included: the former Mayor, City Councilmen, the 911 Director, the Asst. Chief of Police, the Fire Chief, the City Manager, Circuit Court judges, the School Superintendent, school system employees, and others. Transformation has not only occurred in the lives of people and the congregations, it has impacted the city and civil government and the education system as well!

Students are now being drug tested in school, Bible elective courses are being offered in high school. In addition, Clay County was chosen as having the model-reading program for children in the state in 2008, significant for a region traditionally plagued with high illiteracy rates.

God's transforming work is also evidenced in the healing of the water. Before, the water always needed to be filtered to be drinkable, but in 2008 the water of Clay County won first-place in municipal water system in the state! In fact, the local water treatment plant is now selling "Hope Water" as a commercial product.

Last, but not least, Clay County now possesses one of the largest elk populations in the country; and turkey, bear, and deer populations are making a comeback following generations of having almost no presence in the area.
This story will inspire you to believe God for all He longs to do in your community. To order the "Appalachian Dawn" transformation DVD click here: www.shop.fusionministry.com

The Lord has connected our hearts to the leaders in Manchester. We have been invited into the community to teach, meet with leaders around the region and provide resources to help them as they carry the fire of transformation to the communities around them. What a joy and privilege to serve them! Please pray and partner with us in this Kingdom journey!

Texas A & M Weekend Ministry Trip April 28th-30th

Friday afternoon Adam Moser and I filmed interviews for a promo DVD for the "Face to Face" consecration.
Taylor Stanley, a student from A & M (pictured to the right) is doing the filming, interviews and helping us produce the DVD. The DVD will be used to inspire campus ministry leaders to consider the consecration process next fall based on what the Lord has done, and is doing on the campus of Texas A & M this spring.

Friday night we held an informational meeting on campus for ministry leaders who were interested in the consecration process next fall. We had a good number of leaders from A & M along with a delegation from the University of Houston who drove down for the evening to join us. We shared the vision, leaders shared their testimonies and we discussed how to increase participation at A & M and in Houston for the fall.
After sharing for a couple hours we prayed to close the meeting about 9 p.m. But when we begin to pray the presence of the Lord broke in and took over the meeting. The Lord began to reveal His heart for the campuses in Texas, prophetic words were released, students encountered the Lord in powerful ways - some for the first time in their lives. For almost 2 hours the Lord ministered to us together in that little room! It was the best "info" meeting I have ever attended! When we finally left about 10:30 we had trouble walking to our cars because we were so affected by the presence of the Lord. The Lord made it clear to us again that He is in this!!!

We are now intentionally trumpeting the call to consecration on 9 other campuses in Texas and Wisconsin as well. In a couple of weeks I will be at the University of Texas - Austin speaking to campus ministry leaders and the regional retreat of InterVarsity leaders from 15 campuses in Texas alone to begin to prepare for the "Face to Face" on those campuses in the fall as well.

Saturday we held a seminar on campus and it was powerful. Adam and I taught on revival, the spirit of the age, the need for spiritual revolution and living a life of radical devotion! During the ministry time the Lord highlighted the idolatry of the university in specific ways and had students renounce the pride, traditions, etc., and it was incredible! There is a core of students now on campus that are really walking in understanding of revival and expectant to be participants of it in their generation!

Klark, pictured with Adam, is a young man who belongs to a conservative Christian Fraternity on campus. Although they ignored the invitation to join in the consecration process, the Lord had His own agenda for them! During their weekly Monday night meeting in the chapel, the presence of the Lord broke in in power and many of the students got baptized in the Holy Spirit! They started praying for healing and several of them got physically healed! The students encountered the Lord is a new, experiential way and have been changed forever.

Since then the Lord is opening their hearts to desiring more of Jesus. These revived students are part of a spiritual revolution out of religious routine and compromised lives and into radical devotion to Jesus! Friday night as we walked through campus after the information meeting, we ran into a young man who had recently come to Christ. Our friend, Stefan had led him to the Lord over dinner and then through deliverance out of the gay lifestyle! In the middle of the restaurant! He is now reading the PURITY book!! We heard so many testimonies of increased evangelism on campus as students have become bold in their faith! Atheists are getting saved! Groups of students are praying around campus, reports of healing and students encountering the Lord's presence and power are increasing!

Please pray for the students as they leave campus for the summer. Pray that the Lord increases their hunger over the summer and that He continues to use them to spread spiritual life and fire wherever they go!

Blessings,
Rhonda Hughey
